My research program, Critical AI, aims to interrogate the assumptions, power dynamics, and socio-political consequences embedded in artificial intelligence. Rooted in critical theory, this program challenges the dominant narrative that portrays AI as neutral, inevitable, or inherently progressive. Instead, we foreground questions of justice, power, and epistemology—examining how AI systems are entangled with histories of colonialism, capitalism, racism, ableism, and patriarchy. Through interdisciplinary scholarship and engaged public discourse, Critical AI strives to imagine and shape technological futures that are just, inclusive, and accountable—and ultimately aims to make AI a power for liberation rather than domination.
