Pierre Maret is a Full Professor of Computer Science at Université Jean Monnet in Saint-Étienne, France, and a researcher at the Hubert Curien Laboratory (UMR CNRS 5516). His expertise encompasses Semantic Web technologies, knowledge modeling, ontologies, virtual communities, and social networks

In 2019, Maret co-founded The QA Company with his former doctoral student Dennis Diefenbach. This startup specializes in developing enterprise question-answering systems that enable users to create chatbots capable of providing direct answers from documents like PDFs and websites. The platform emphasizes ease of use and data sovereignty, allowing organizations to deploy on-premise solutions without requiring technical expertise.

Maret has an extensive publication record, with over 160 works and more than 1,300 citations. His research contributions include advancements in geospatial question-answering systems, knowledge graphs, and semantic interoperability. Notable projects involve the development of tools such as GeoQA2 and the GeoQuestions1089 dataset, which are instrumental in benchmarking question-answering engines.

Beyond his research, Maret serves as the Head of International Relations for the Faculty of Sciences at Université Jean Monnet, where he facilitates international academic collaborations.
